New York City is getting their 1 Gigabyte Wi-Fi, and as you can imagine the public is very excited. This is good news for many as they will have access to the internet when they are on the streets out and about in the city that never sleeps.
There are those who are not excited about this, however. Those who believe that this is just part of a big government spy program. Some believe that the government is using Wi-Fi signals from our phones to map grids of the city and give three-dimensional insight to every nook and cranny of everybody’s lives.
Some individuals believe that it is a violation of the privacy act while others don’t care as long as they have free Wi-Fi. What would be the benefit of mapping the city? Just imagine being able to know where everyone is at all times.
