The world learned of the passing of a music legend yesterday. But many people do not know that it was Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday. Well in the UK it’s probably more apparent than what it was here in the US, but you would think that people would be more knowledgeable about the world around them. This is the shocking truth though people really are kind of oblivious to anything that doesn’t directly benefit them. That is what led to many people mistakenly thinking that Niagara Falls and the CN Tower were lit up purple in honor of the music legend Prince.
The truth is these iconic landmarks we’re actually lit purple in honor of the Queen’s 90th birthday. The shocking truth that many people may not want to hear is the fact that the world does not revolve around Hollywood, the world does not revolve around Musicians. Nor does it revolve around actors and actresses. What it does revolve around is real life and political leaders that have made monumental changes that have affected people globally.
For those that are disappointed to hear this news, I can tell you that at least one place on Earth is honoring Prince by lighting up something purple and that is a bridge in Minnesota just a few short miles from where he was born.
