When it comes to reproducing, there are many risks. These risks are only heightened more when one chooses to utilize a sperm bank for artificial insemination rather than simply getting it on and reproducing like the majority of the population. Unfortunately, there are many individuals who must choose this route for different reasons whether they be physical, spiritual, or other reasons.
There is a sperm bank in Georgia called Xytex that is being sued after the real identity of a sperm donor was revealed. Donor 9623 is described on the firm’s website as being a very healthy man with an IQ of 160 who’s working on a Ph.D. in Neuroscience Engineering. The truth, however, was rather shocking especially to the families that utilized his sperm for reproduction. The truth that they found out was this individual named Chris Angeles was actually a 39-year-old College dropout who was diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorders, schizophrenia, and bipolar-ism.
If that wasn’t enough this man had also spent time in prison for burglary. His sperm had been used to reproduce at least 36 children in the US, the UK and Canada between the years 2000 and 2014. The company is currently being sued by three Canadian families with children under the age of 8. Since schizophrenia can be hereditary, they believe that they have a basis for suing the company for not properly performing background checks on this individual and misrepresenting his qualifications on their documentation and they have every right to do so!
