We Are Killing Our Planet and Our Food Sources

Do you enjoy eating things such as apricots, peaches, nectarines, cherries, and plums? If so you may be looking at an increase in prices very soon when it comes to obtaining these fruits. This is due to the unusual weather that has been occurring around the globe. This February was one of the hottest on history and this resulted in many of the trees that produce these fruits in the Northeastern United States blooming before they should.

When the weather went nutty just a few short weeks later and presented the region with a cold snap it killed off the blooms that had prematurely started in many crops thus killing off the harvest. Not only did it kill the harvest it essentially killed the trees that produces said fruits in the region meaning that farmers will have to replace these trees which can be expensive and time-consuming.

It will also take several years for the trees to grow to maturity once again. This unusual weather is the fault of none other than humans. We have devastated our planet. We have ruined our atmosphere. We are killing off entire species and now we are directly causing harm to farmers, and the crops that provide this nation with food.  We much make changes as a species or Mother Nature is going to do it for us.
